By now we all know that Joyce Clark has lost her city council seat to a guy that can neither pronounce library nor do the simple math on a campaign report. I mean, really, it’s just addition and subtraction. That’s a bad thing for the City of Glendale.
What’s better than “Neil Young Unplugged”? That’s right, “Joyce Clark Unfiltered”.
I was talking with a friend today, and he had an interesting take. He said “I don’t always listen to Joyce Clark, but when I do, I prefer her UNFILTERED.”
So do we.
Joyce was on 1060 AM this afternoon on the Roc & Manuch show. Backing up a minute, let me say that Roc & Manuch are NOT on the “Official” station of the Phoenix Coyotes. If there is justice, this is an issue that should be rectified as soon as a new regime becomes effective for the Coyotes. They have been supportive of the Coyotes from the jump, are knowledgeable about the game, and are actually fans of the Coyotes AND THEIR FANS. They may not be very good at kickball, but check them out if you haven’t already.
We got some great information from Joyce this afternoon.
First of all, we got a report on Greg Jamison’s visit to Glendale yesterday. We heard that there’s a few things to iron out, that it’s no big thing. We also heard that the arena lease deal will be voted on by the City Council on November 27th. There are a few things that need to be in place before that, you will see these things drop into place over the coming days, Coyotes Tetris.
One of the great things about the “UNFILTERED” thing is that CM Clark doesn’t really need to worry about offending some people anymore, particularly the obstructionist people who feel every criticism is a personal attack and respond accordingly.
I am NOT unfiltered, though, so I will not name this person as CM Clark did. Instead I will use clever allegory and other literary tricks to leave subtle clues throughout the rest of this blog post. If you guess who I am talking about, you didn’t hear it from me!
Anyway, CM Clark said that there is a person who will probably attempt to sabotage the Coyotes deal. This person will probably employ several tactics at once, including the tactic that has been used for the past several years to derail the hockey team, DELAY. This person probably figures that delaying the vote until January will kill the Coyotes in Glendale. So, CM Clark admonishes us to watch for that.
Another arrow in the quiver will be the conveniently timed “emergency” of the Risk Management Trust Fund problem, so eloquently and conveniently recently researched by the Arizona Republic. Well, research might be a stretch, let’s stick with just convenient. There was a conveniently timed City Council workshop session scheduled for the day before election day, and the AZ Republic article was used by the mathematically challenged Chavira at the polls as safety green printed “proof” of CM Clark’s errors.
Joyce Clark also mentioned that she wouldn’t speak with the AZ Republic anymore because of their apparent leanings they have against her. I’m a bit surprised that Mr. Jamison spoke with them recently, actually.
They also spoke briefly about the Canadian media and their misleading “facts”. Joyce also mentioned internet trolls, she has more than her share of despicable, profanity laden personal attacks.
I’ll be following up over the next week or so with updates and speculation as I dream things up. There are plenty of options available to counteract the expected attacks from the person we’re speaking of and to defend the future of Glendale AND the Coyotes. There are allies waiting in the wings, I believe, with some pretty spectacular negotiating points at their disposal.
Semper Fidelis, Coyotes brothers and sisters. Rest assured that the usual suspects have YOUR backs and won’t quit until the fight is over, one way or the other.
