Glendale RFP Rejection Letter

We acknowledge receipt of your public record’s request from Tuesday, June 4, 2013.

At the appropriate time, we intend to provide you with the information relative to Glendale’s RFP for Jobing.com Arena.

Glendale staff met today with representatives of Beacon Sports, the consultants hired by the City to conduct the RFP process for consideration of candidates to manage Jobing.Com Arena.

The purpose of the meeting was to brief staff regarding the four initial proposals received by Beacon in response to Glendale’s RFP.

This week the four proposals will be considered by staff.

Requests for further information to the candidates will be developed and vetting of the maturing proposals will continue with a view toward identifying finalists.

It is anticipated that these finalists will be invited to make presentations to staff on June 17 and 18.

The finalists will address their respective best proposals to Council and staff on June 18.

Although the proposals have been received, it is important to note that this is by no means the end of the competitive process.

Beacon continues to work toward refining the bids.

The negotiations have yet to begin.

And as we are still so early in the process, council has not been briefed on any details of the submissions at this point.

Although we understand and appreciate the desire for the public to know details, disclosure of details before negotiations commence could negatively impact Glendale’s ability to receive the best terms for the City.

As we progress further and are able to share this information, we will definitely do so.
