Mark Robinson is not your average Nazi level bigot. He’s currently the Lt. Governor of North Carolina gunning for the Governor job. He’s also a Republican.
“He’s Martin Luther King on steroids” said Trump. Mark’s inflammatory stances on everything from gun control to people of the Jewish faith earned him the coveted Trump endorsement.
The comparison to Dr. King isn’t a stretch, it’s a lie.
Guns
Robinson’s political debut stemmed from a 2018 viral video. He stood at a city council meeting describing a stance on guns that’s popular in rural areas. His vivid anti gun control view basis? “in case the government gets too big for its britches.” As an Army Reserve veteran, he must be aware how he’d do when the shooting starts against the United States military.
His stance on students reacting politically to gun violence in their schools:
“A spoiled, angry, disobedient CHILD shot and killed 17 of his classmates, and now spoiled, angry, know it all CHILDREN are trying to tell law abiding ADULTS that we must give up our Constitutional RIGHT to own certain weapons. …David Hogg and the rest of these silly little immature “media prosti-tots” need to grab a passy, have seat in time out, and shut up.”1
David Hogg is a gun control activist and a survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School mass murders. He and his group were a part of forcing legislation banning assault weapons in Florida. He’s a poster boy for gun activism and a frequent target of gun fan rhetoric.
Robinson the Anti-Semite
Robinson was worked up about an agnostic Jew and a satanic marxist who made the Black Panther movie:
“It is absolutely AMAZING to me that people who know so little about their true history and REFUSE to acknowledge the pure sorry state of their current condition can get so excited about a fictional “hero” created by an agnostic Jew and put to film by satanic marxist. How can this trash, that was only created to pull the shekels out of your Schvartze pockets, invoke any pride?”2
Mark equated protesters tearing down a Confederate memorial statue to Kristallnacht:
“They are no better than the NKVD which carried out mass killings in Soviet Russia under Stalin. They are no better than the Brown Shirts who terrorized Jewish neighborhoods on “the Night of the Broken Glass” during the Nazi rise to power in Germany.”3
This sort of “us versus them” language is a hallmark of the MAGA movement. Wildly overblown comparisons equating mass murder and genocide with tearing down a statue commemorating a Confederate soldier is also typical.
Robinson quoted Hitler, not damning until taken in context with other comments and posts and the fact Hitler went well past pride in one’s own race in theory and practice:
“Pride in one’s own race – and that does not imply contempt for other races – is also a normal and healthy sentiment. I have never regarded the Chinese or the Japanese as being inferior to ourselves… They have the right to be proud of their past, just as we have the right to be proud of the civilization to which we belong.”4
Mark The Holocaust Denier
In another post, Robinson leaves the REASON to the imagination:
“There is a REASON the liberal media fills the airwaves with programs about the NAZI and the ‘6 million Jews’ they murdered,” wrote Robinson. “There is also a REASON those same liberals DO NOT FILL the airwaves with programs about the Communist and the 100+ million PEOPLE they murdered throughout the 20th century.”5
Gays
“I believe that homosexuality is a sin and that those people who are ‘proudly coming out of the closet’’ are standing in open rebellion against God…………….AND I DON”T CARE WHO KNOWS IT OR LIKES IT!!!!!”
You see the pattern, it’s MAGA fear mongering which gets clicks and attention. Robinson perhaps even believes it all.
Mark Is Not Governor Material
He’s an Obama birther and a COVID denier. Robinson is a fully qualified MAGA follower down to the last meme and fraudulent claim.
Mark Robinson filed for bankruptcy three times. THREE! He was sued for not paying his rent then his landlord sued to evict him.
He didn’t pay federal income taxes for seven years, earning him a tax lien from the IRS.
Mark opposes abortion and also paid to abort his baby.
Robinson wants to eliminate science and social studies from first through fifth grade curriculums and abolish the State Board of Education.
The litany of rote MAGA positions Robinson spouts follows the current Trump playbook while he has also been even more overt with his bigotry and apparent hatred of cultures he considers unlike his own. While he has said he has tamped down his personal beefs while in government service, that remains to be seen if he’s tested with the reins of state government.
He should never be the Governor of North Carolina.
