Politics – A necessary evil
Many, maybe even MOST, Americans say they have no interest in politics.
After all, it’s a dirty business and we’re all busy living our lives and taking care of business.
Yet, all Americans 18 and over should VOTE, and voting responsibly means getting a little dirty understanding politics and what politicians have in mind for your future and present life.

Dark Money Into The Toilet
Money makes things happen in politics. Recent rule changes for campaign finance reporting have thrown open the doors for gigantic anonymous contributions. Predictably, “dark money” has since been firehosing into the coffers of candidates and causes nationwide. Glendale (AZ) is having a great view of what present and future election cycles will be. Background The Glendale…

The Outrage of Laziness
It’s no secret that social media is riddled with a wealth of misinformation. Popular social media outlets provide an easily accessible and inexpensive avenue for people to forward their agenda, often by fomenting outrage with incomplete and/or inaccurate information. There’s a great deal of confidence that most people won’t do any fact checking, accepting inflammatory headlines and snippets disguised as “news” blindly. That confidence is…

Obamacare – Much better coverage, much better price
In an earlier post (click here), I detailed my experience working through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace. It was positive. Slanted Anecdotes We’ve all read/heard/watched plenty of “Obamacare” pieces from left and right sources ad nauseum. Obamacare – A Convincing Win In Arizona
I decided to enroll on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplace Monday (November 18, 2013). I am now in the “Plan Select” phase and probably won’t show up as a blip in either leftist or rightist counts of anything related to “Obamacare”. Noise From Both Sides Like everyone else in the world with any sort of connectivity,…

Technical Knockout In The Final Round
Today is July 18, 2013. As of today, ANY signatures collected for the R13-01 referendum are invalid and should not be considered. There are multiple reasons for this. This is the third time around for Mr. Jones with the anti-Coyotes crusade. He had more significant partners during his first try that failed. Ironically, had he and…

One Way Transparency
Here we are again, boys and girls. There was so much material in the dirty tricks basket that I had to split it up into parts. This is part two. Click here for part one. We’re talking about Glendale and the handling of the arena management deal with IceArizona (the DBA type name for the…

Coyotes Bidders Are Serious
Taking the advice of a local PR boffin, we requested supporting information from the City of Glendale. Maybe it would be more proper English to use “seriousness” rather than “serious” in describing a fictional barometer, but that’s okay since no such barometer actually exists in many minds. We all want to know who the “serious” bidders…
